The Red Congress (formerly Semenovsky Descent ) is a street in the Kirovsky district of the city of Yaroslavl . Lies between Red Square and Volga Embankment . The numbering of houses is from the Volga embankment.

History
The former name is Semenovsky Descent , named after the church of Simeon Stolpnik, located on Semenovskaya Square (now Red Square ). Semenovsky descent is one of the oldest congresses to the Volga, from which there was a ferry to Tveritsa and then the road to Kostroma and Vologda . Previously, there was a bed of the Semenovsky ravine, which was part of the fortification system of the medieval city.
In September 1924, the descent was renamed the Red Congress . Symbol name: red is the color of the proletarian revolution.
