On the outskirts there is a village cemetery and a mass grave of 315 soldiers of the Soviet Army who died during the liberation of the Nevelsky district. Hero of the Soviet Union V. A. Tolkachev is buried here [3] .

Located about 25 kilometers from the regional center of the city of Nevel .
5 miles to the west was the village of Zaprudie , now desolate.

Infrastructure
In the village there is a Nevelsky Raipo store. There is also a club and a library in the village. In Soviet times, the school had an eight-year school.
