Biography

Petr Ivanovich Golichenkov was born on July 12, 1921 in a Russian peasant family in the village of Dolzhnikovo (now - Bazarnosyzgansky district of the Ulyanovsk region ). There he received primary education. After graduation, he worked on the collective farm [1] .

In 1941 he was called up for military service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army by the Oktyabrsky District Military Commissariat of Moscow [2] . Since June of the same year, he has been on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, initially was a machine gunner , later retrained as a sniper [1] .

He was a sniper of a separate reconnaissance company of the 1st Rifle Division of the NKVD troops of the 8th Army of the Leningrad Front . By January 20, 1942, Golichenkov had sniped fire on 140 enemy soldiers and officers with sniper fire, trained over 230 fighters, who in total destroyed more than 4,000 enemy soldiers and officers. So, on December 21, 1941, Golichenkov destroyed 17 German soldiers in a day [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 6, 1942, the Red Army soldier Peter Ivanovich Golichenkov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Gold Star medal and the Order of Lenin [1] .

Later on, during one of the sorties, the Golichenkas were contused and sent to the hospital in an unconscious state. After healing, he returned to the front. In total, during the war, he destroyed 225 enemy soldiers and officers. At the end of 1945, in the rank of junior lieutenant Golichenkov was transferred to the reserve. He lived and worked in his native village, was a deputy of the village council, a member of the bureau of the collective-farm party organization [1] .

Petr Ivanovich Golichenkov died on July 28, 1976 [1] .

Memory

In the native village, the central street is named after Peter Golichenkov
