Biography
Miroslav Jovanovic dressed on August 10, 1915 in Pozharevac . He graduated from school in Pozharevac, entered the University of Belgrade at the Faculty of Law. In his youth he became interested in the study of Marxism, and early on entered the workers' revolutionary movement. In 1939 he was admitted to the Communist Party of Yugoslavia , but in 1940 moved to an illegal position due to the prohibition of the Communist Party and the fear of being arrested.
In July 1941, Jovanovic, as a member of the Grotsky City Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, began to work to start an armed uprising; since August 1942, he served as the Mladenovatsky District Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. He served in the Kosmai partisan detachment. After the First anti-partisan attack and the retreat of partisan troops, Miroslav left the detachment, taking up political activities.
From the end of 1941 until the spring of 1943, Jovanovic served as a member of the Belgrade District Committee, after which he became secretary of the Kragujevac City Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. In mid-1943 he returned to the NOAA, taking the post of political instructor of the 1st Shumdiy battalion. On October 5, after the formation of the 1st Shumdadi brigade, he moved to the 3rd battalion (the 1st battalion also entered the brigade). December 2, took the post of commander of the 3rd battalion.
December 4, 1943 Miroslav defended the bridge across the Lima River and the road to Pripolye. Against the units of the 2nd proletarian division were sent parts of the 1st Mountain Division of the Wehrmacht and the German Legion "Cremper". Miroslav commanded a battalion and died in a stubborn battle.
December 6, 1953 , 10 years after his death, was posthumously awarded the title of People's Hero of Yugoslavia by decree of Josip Broz Tito.
