From September to October 85, Balb served as consul-suffice . In the years 100 / 101-101 / 102, he was the proconsul of Asia . It is known that Emperor Traian in a letter to him ordered privileges to be granted to the Carian city of Aphrodisias . His son was the consul-suffix of 129, Quintus Julius Balb .
