The surrounding Yakut dialects

The surrounding Yakut dialects are one of two groups of Yakut dialects (dialects) along with the present group . The prevalence of surrounding dialects is the western regions of Yakutia along the left bank of the Lena River , as well as dialects of the right bank in the basins of the Olekma and Amga rivers. The surrounding (western) dialect group is divided into Vilyui and north-western dialects (according to the classification of M. S. Voronkin) [1] .

Dialect Features

Dialects of the Yakut language are characterized primarily by phonetic and lexical differences. The system of vocalism of Western dialects is characterized by the presence of a perke. Ocane is a relatively late phonetic trait with respect to Akan, common in the eastern dialects of the Yakut language. West Yakut hotun ( Russian mistress ), sorghum ( Russian happiness ), khomus ( Russian reed, reed ), ooҕuy ( Russian spider ), etc. are opposed to the East Yakut Khatyn , Sargs , Khamys , aaҕy , etc. [ 2] In Yakut dialects, variation of this kind is noted in a limited number of foundations of Turkic and Mongolian origin. The terms Akane and Oka appeared in Yakut linguistics under the influence of Russian linguistics, but they have nothing to do with the features of unstressed vocalism in Russian dialects [3] .

In northwestern dialects, unlike Vilyui dialects, assimilation of consonants is less developed, there is a greater number of archaisms in vocabulary, and northwestern dialects are distinguished by the presence of borrowings from the languages of northern peoples [2] .

Ocane is also characteristic of dialects of the Dolgan language and of the Yakut literary language.
