The FAW Besturn B50 is a compact car manufactured by the first Chinese automaker First Automotive Works since 2009. It was first shown in April 2008 at the Beijing Motor Show [1] .

Technical Features
The Besturn B50, like its older brother Besturn B70 and the Besturn X7 crossover [2] , is based on the platform of the first generation Mazda6 [3] , that is, the Mazda GG. The engine for it was taken from the second generation Volkswagen Jetta [4] . This four-cylinder in-line unit with a volume of 1.6 liters develops 103 hp. . There are no alternatives to it, although it can be equipped with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission .
Equipment
In total, the car has 6 trim levels [5] : 3 each with automatic transmission and manual transmission . The basic version has air conditioning, power windows, anti-lock brakes , EBD , anti-theft system, 2 front airbags for the driver and passenger, a multimedia system with CD / MP3 and 6 speakers, etc. The expensive version has power seats, a leather interior, cruise control , side airbags and other options [6] .

Sales in Russia
Since August 2012, the car began to be sold in Russia under the same name [7] . Cars from China are supplied by the official distributor of the company. The car has the same engine and gearboxes, as well as similar equipment. Prices for it start at 499 thousand rubles for the basic version and end with the most expensive for 619 thousand at a discount [8] . Deliveries of the FAW Besturn B50 model to Russia ended in 2014, sales of previously imported cars continued until 2016 [9] .
