Policy
In the 2012 presidential election, the inhabitants of the canton cast 27.2% of the votes in the 1st round to Francois Hollande versus 26.5% for Marin Le Pen and 22.6% for Nicolas Sarkozy , and Hollande won in the 2nd round in the canton 54.0% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 27.7%, Segolen Royal - 23.0%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 51.6%). In the elections to the National Assembly in 2012 in the 4th constituency of the Somme Department, in the 1st round they supported the mayor of Mondidier , candidate of the Socialist Party, Catherine Kignon, who received 36.5% of the vote, but the current canton won in the 2nd round deputy, candidate of the Union for the Popular Movement Party Alain Gest , with 51.7% of the vote.
