The witness alphabet consists of 25 letters, only a few of which are clearly of Greek origin. Probably conveys sitetskoy language . The alphabet is essentially unencrypted [1] .
Place in writing systems
The witness letter has archaic features. Graphic analogues of a number of letters are presumably traced only in northern and southern Semitic writing ( Biblical or Ugaritic ) [2] . This feature is related to it with the Karyan alphabet. In sittersky letter there is a simplification of the forms of letters in comparison, for example, with Greek. As a result, the outlines of some graphemes became so similar that scribes began to use auxiliary strokes to distinguish them. As a result, the sittersky letter was far removed from its prototype.
