Skotobaza - meat processing plant for the reception and maintenance of slaughter cattle [1] .
Skotobaza performs the function of receiving raw materials for the production of meat products . It includes the necessary transport infrastructure facilities and devices: a platform for receiving cattle delivered by rail or road, pens for livestock to be examined by a veterinarian and cattle thermometry, a disinfection-washing station and pens for cattle selected for slaughter. The capacity of the pens and the capacity of these structures and devices should ensure the two-shift operation of the meat-packing plant with a coefficient of 1.3, taking into account the uneven delivery of the slaughter cattle [2] .
The maintenance of animals is carried out in homogeneous body weight and fatness in batches in group machines. Bugs and boars are kept individually. There are standards for space per head [2] :
- cattle 2.5 square meters ;
- sheep and goats 0.5 square meters;
- pigs 0.8 square meters.
The floors of the slaughterhouse are made of waterproof materials that can be cleaned and disinfected . Sewage has manure traps.
Skotobaza for work has a great need for water. The total daily water demand for one head of cattle is 60 liters, 25 - liters for pigs, 10 - liters for sheep.
The cattle farm provides quarantine facilities for animals suspected of having a disease, with a capacity of about ten percent of the daily amount of processed livestock.
Sick animals are kept in an insulator , the capacity of which is determined at the rate of 1% of the total daily processing of animals. The quarantine and the isolator are fenced off from the territory where there are healthy livestock, a fence 2.5 meters high. For temporary storage (until destruction) of manure and corpses of animals who have died from infectious diseases and other reasons for which animals are not allowed to be slaughtered for meat, a special room is arranged.
Along with rooms for animals, healthy, sick and dead, in the territory of the slaughterhouse there are also premises for the workers of the slaughterhouse, premises for the conductors of livestock, veterinarians , warehouses and other similar premises. There is a vehicle for transporting weak animals or corpses [2] .
