The park was founded in 2000 on the automobile circle of Bratislava street [2] .

It was officially opened on September 13, 2001 [3] . It got its name in honor of the famous journalist, writer, public figure, president of the Top Secret holding Artyom Borovik , who died in a plane crash on March 9, 2000 [4] . Moscow Mayor Yu. M. Luzhkov spoke at the opening ceremony: [5]

«It was a man who showed naked truth, no matter how bitter it may be. Through this, he wanted to make the world a better and kinder place ... he fought against violence and terror in a way that many others could not have done [5] .»

Also at the ceremony were members of the Moscow Government , leaders of the South-Eastern Administrative Okrug and the Maryino district, friends and colleagues of A.
