Biography
In 1979 he graduated from the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature of the Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute. A.I. Herzen , and in 1989 - graduate school , successfully defending a dissertation on the subject “Complex syntactic whole in a functional aspect (based on material of constructions with a local / temporal determinant in the initial position)” (02.10.01 - Russian).
In 1999 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Problems of Russian text formation: The super-phrasal level of organization of a literary text."
He began his pedagogical activity as a teacher of the Russian language and literature in schools in St. Petersburg (school number 176 (1979), school number 373 (1980-1986), school number 371 (1987-1990).
Since 1981 works at the Russian language department of the philological faculty of Russian State Pedagogical University named after A. I. Herzen [1] : hourly (1981-1989), assistant (1989-1993), associate professor (1993-2000), professor (since 2000).
In 2004-2007, he taught linguistics and Russian at the University of Oldenburg University named after Karl von Osetskiy ( Germany ).
By 2012, prepared two candidates of science .
Professor Dymarsky is on the dissertation council D 212.199.04 on the defense of dissertations for the degree of candidate and doctor of philological sciences (specialty 10.02.01 - Russian language) and the degree of candidate and doctor of pedagogical sciences (specialty 13.00.02 - theory and teaching and upbringing methodology (Russian and Russian as a foreign language, levels of general and professional education)). He has been a member of the Council since 2001, in 2001-2004 was his scientific secretary.
On the account of M. Ya. Dymarsky more than 150 scientific works, most of which are devoted to research in the field of syntax , text formation, theory of speech culture and pragmatics .

In 2007-2011, he was a participant in a scientific project led by S. G. Ilyenko , supported by grants from the Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation .
The educational activities of Dymarsky are not limited to science and teaching. Since 1997, he has been acting as the host (since 2007, the co-host, together with V. A. Efremov) of the cultural and educational program “How is it in Russian?” On “Radio of Russia - St. Petersburg” , answering questions from radio listeners on the culture of speech, about the history and current state of the Russian language.
