It is located 3 kilometers north of the community center - Laktashi , on the Field of Liev, in the west - Mount Kozara, in the east - the river Vrbas . In Makhovlyany, Banja Luka Airport is located.

Near Makhovlyan there is a Slavic necropolis of the X-XI centuries.
