He was born on September 24 ( October 6, according to a new style) in 1869 in Moscow in the family of a teacher.
He graduated from the Moscow Commercial and Moscow Archaeological Institutes.
He printed stories in the magazines "Epoch" and "Homeland", in the newspaper "News of the day" and other publications. He published under the name of Eugene Mansfeld collections of short stories: “Blots”, “Light and Shadows” (1898) and others.
From 1908 to 1918 - Director of the School of Foreign Trade Correspondents [1] . In 1918 - 1921 - the head of the educational unit.
In 1918-1921, he simultaneously read his poems and stories at literary evenings and charity concerts. He participated in concerts at propaganda centers, in workers 'and soldiers' clubs. Converted, read stories.
In 1921, he finally switched to the artistic field. He performed on the stage in a frock coat, which gave him a purely academic look. Confering, it was mainly limited to the announcement of the names of the artists and the names of the things they performed. During the concert I read two or three of my short stories.
He died on March 4, 1932 in Moscow. He was buried at Vvedensky cemetery . [2]
