Imo.im

imo.im is a web service for instant messaging (IM) and VoIP calls. When registering, you need to register your own internal account imo.im. To exchange messages using imo.im, you do not need to install additional programs, just have a browser, and all messages are saved on the server, which allows you to use the service from anywhere in the world, from any computer.

Additional features include VoIP calls, as well as the possibility of custom web applications online when communicating.

The site uses HTML5 technology, Adobe Flash and the open source libpurple library created by the developers of the Pidgin program. To ensure security, all client connections to the server through the browser are made through the https encrypted protocol.

Since March 3, 2014, support for extraneous protocols has been disabled ( ICQ , AIM , Yahoo!, MSN , Valve Steam , XMPP (Jabber) , which means Google Talk , Facebook ).

The company's developers also created a version for use on mobile devices: iPhone / iPad , Android , BlackBerry , Nokia ( Symbian ) Windows Phone . Due to the high popularity of the application and the need of the older generation to communicate with each other using a computer, a version for the computer has been released.

As of 2018, IMO remains the only available messenger in Turkmenistan .
