"Walton" has become one of the most popular television series of the seventies due to its realistic images of social significant problems [2] . The project was originally launched as a television movie in 1971, but a huge positive reaction from the public prompted CBS to turn the film into a series [2] . The peak of the success of the series came in the second season, which took second place in the annual table of the most rated programs [3] . In all, for six of the nine seasons, the series was in the Top Twenty Top-Rated Television Programs. After the show's finale in 1981, several continuation television films were shot, and up to now, the series will be replayed on a number of channels in many countries around the world.

The series throughout the entire period of the show was loved by critics [2] . Over its ten-year history, the series has received a number of awards, including thirteen Emmys , including the award for the best drama series in 1973 [4] . The project also won three Golden Globes , Peabody , and Choice of the People , and also received dozens of nominations and awards [4] .

On January 27, 1992, US President George W. Bush himself mentioned in his speech, stating: "We will continue our efforts to strengthen the American family to make American families much more like the Walton, and much less like the Simpsons ." The authors of the animated series answered this ironically with Bart’s mouth in a short video that was shown three days later, before the repetition of the series “ Absolutely Crazy Dad ”: “Hey, we are just like the Walton. We also pray for the end of the Depression. ”
