Biography

Kamo Safaryan was born on January 13, 1961 in Armenia , in the village of Dashtadem (according to other sources - in Georgia ), he began his career as a pickpocket in Tbilisi , in 1979 he was first convicted of theft. In 1982, he again received a sentence for theft, having served four years, in 1987 he was sentenced to five years in Batumi for drug possession and violation of the rules of supervision. In the early 1990s, a donkey in Moscow, engaged in conflict resolution in the criminal world. At the beginning of 1994, the door of Safaryan’s Moscow apartment was fired upon, and he himself was threatened with physical punishment for an unfair arbitration during the analysis of the conflict between the Solntsevskaya and Lyubertsy criminal groups. After this, Kamo was forced to flee from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod . In July 1994, Safaryan was arrested for illegal possession of weapons and subsequently sentenced to three years in prison [1] [2] [3] .

After his release from the colony of Dimitrovgrad, Kamo returned to Nizhny Novgorod, where he began to actively strengthen his authority in the criminal circles of the region. Other Caucasian thieves in law began to come to him in Nizhny, which caused discontent among local Slavic authorities, who were worried about the possible redistribution of spheres of influence. To enlist the support of local criminals, Safaryan initiated the “coronation” of three authorities in 1998 - Seki, Hamlet and Novik, but also contributed to the “debunking” of Gorky’s thieves in the law of Hera, Klim, Oak and Wagon. Kamo’s intrigues caused an acute conflict, as a result of which on January 20, 1998, a sniper instead of him shot his brother Khazar by mistake. The “collision” of employees of the Volga-Vyatka RUBOP [4] [2] [5] prompted to finally leave the Nizhny Novgorod region of Safaryan.

Kamo settled in Yalta , being in Nizhny Novgorod only as arrivals for meetings with his “godchildren” - thieves in law Andrei Gamlevsky (Hamlet), Sergei Razzhivin (Seca) and Igor Novikov (Novik). In Crimea, Kamo's area of interest included retail outlets in the markets, a number of hotels, nightclubs, restaurants, bars and shops, the drug trade (in addition, Kamo controlled the business of the Armenian diaspora of the Crimea and through the Melkonyan brothers showed considerable interest in operations with the Crimean land) . For a long time, Safaryan was the only "legalist" of the Crimea, but in 2002, under pressure from Russian thieves, he ceded part of the territory to the Armenian authority Walter Sargsyan. In 2004, Georgian thief in law Irakli, who arrived in Crimea, tried to tame Safaryan, but he was brutally beaten by Kamo and Kiev thief Valery Kukhilava (Antimos). On November 3, 2006, Safaryan was detained near his Yalta home with a bag of marijuana and on the same day, by decision of the Kiev district court of Simferopol, he was expelled from the country with a ban on entry into the territory of Ukraine for a period of five years. In November 2007, Kamo, in the company of Armenian thief in law Vardan Asatryan (Bje), was detained in Kiev (they intended to hold a “thieves’ gathering ”on the outskirts of Kiev to restore their positions in Ukraine). As soon as possible, both “thieves” were forcibly deported to Russia [2] [6] [7] .

In Moscow, the Safaryan team controlled gambling enterprises and participated in the drug trade (in addition, Kamo personally continued to commit pickpocketing). In June 2009, Kamo, who had arrived from Barcelona the day before, was detained at the Pakhlava restaurant in Moscow. During a personal search, the authority, which was under the influence of drugs, seized 11 g of hashish (he was sent to a settlement colony for six months). November 27, 2009 in Yalta, they shot and killed Walter Sargsyan (according to one version, Kamo was involved in the order). At the end of July 2012, Safaryan was again detained in Moscow, this time at the Tale of the East restaurant (almost 24 grams of hash were found with him) [2] [8] [9] [3] [10] [11] [12 ] .

In March 2015, during a special operation in Crimea, three thieves in law were detained at once. During the search, two pistols were found in Kamo Safaryan’s Yalta apartment, a submachine gun was found during a search of a Chechen Gilani Aliyev (Gilani Sedoy), and Kakhaber Oragvelidze (Kakha Tbilissky) was arrested for petty hooliganism [13] .
