The LP960 model of Lehmann Aviation Ltd , a French manufacturer of multipurpose light unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), was launched in 2007. LP960 is the first company to enter the wide sale of UAVs [1] .
Model LP960 is designed for professional aerial and video shooting in real time (vertical images in high resolution). This UAV is designed for the needs of both the private and public sectors (intelligence, security sector, research and development sector).
Equipped with a Sony a6000 camera or thermal imager, the device is widely used for video surveillance of various ground objects in real time, both in the daytime and at night. “In addition to shooting on a local medium ( memory card ), the LP960 also has the function of wireless“ live ”broadcasting of video to an operator; the image is transmitted to the ground control system in a resolution of 800x480 pixels ” [2] .
The LP960 ground control system has become the prototype for other Lehmann Aviation's ground control systems ( LV580 and LM450 ).
In early 2012, the LP960 UAV was widely recognized in Russia.
The LP960 (like the LM500 ) is part of Lehmann Aviation's LM line, which is a micro UAV that can be controlled from the ground during flight. This line differs from the LA line , which includes fully automatic micro UAVs: LA200 , LA300 .
