It is located in the north-west of the district, on the shores of artificial (Gorushensky) lake off the north-west coast of Lake Gorodnovsky [2] , 23 km west of the Dedovichi district center and 12 km west of the village of Dubrovka .

The population of the village is 163 inhabitants (2000). [one]
History
Until 2005, the village was the administrative center of Gorushinsky volost, which was then abolished in favor of the Dubrovsky volost. In 2005 - 2010, the village was part of the Dubrovsky volost, abolished on June 3, 2010 in favor of the Pozherevitsky volost.
