Biography
Orthodox. From the hereditary nobles of the Kazan province. The son of the chairman of the Vitebsk state chamber of the current state adviser Gavrila Pavlovich Matyunin (b. 1808) [1] . The elder brother Nikolai is a diplomat and intelligence officer; younger brother Alexander is a major general.
At the end of the Alexander Lyceum in 1869, he entered the service at the Office of the State Audit Office. Then, for more than ten years, he served the judiciary in the St. Petersburg province. In 1881 he was appointed world mediator in the Olgopol district of Podolsk province, and in January 1885 - the ruler of the office of the Podolsk governor .
In 1892, he retired with the rank of college adviser and was enlisted as a sworn solicitor of the district of the Kharkov Judicial Chamber. Before the elections to the First State Duma, he founded and headed the Sumy department of the Union on October 17th .
In 1907 he was elected a member of the III State Duma from the 2nd Congress of City Voters of the Kharkiv Province. He was a member of the Octobrist faction. He was the chairman of the editorial commission, and also a member of the commissions: on request, on judicial reforms and in the direction of legislative assumptions.
The fate after 1917 is unknown.
He was married to Lyubov Feliksovna Matyunina. Their son:
- Pavel (1885-1961), a graduate of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute. Cartoon artist, known under the pseudonym Pam . He collaborated in the newspapers " New time " and "Evening time", magazines " Satyricon ", " Capital and the estate " and many others. In exile in France, he collaborated in the French and Russian press (in the newspaper Vozrozhdenie , the magazines Illustrated Russia and Russian Thought ) [2] .
