Content
History
The station Zheleznitsa on the Bologoy-Polotsk railway line appeared immediately after the construction of the line in 1906. The German map of the end of 1942 shows that the Hp Shelesniza gun station was that year. But in the scheme of 1943 on the double track Novo-Khovansk - Molokoedovo, only a checkpoint of 393 km is marked. Apparently, this was just a checkpoint before the war. During the war, his status changed before the crossing because of the destruction of the double-track road. After the war, in connection with the restoration of only one route, the Zheleznitsa station appeared. The station is named in honor of the village of the same name.
In October 1941, a group of Loginov from the Chkalov detachment carried out a raid on the Zheleznitsa station - a bridge and a station building were blown up.
“ On September 18 [1942] the brigade attacked the Zheleznitsa station on the railway station. Nevel - Polotsk. As a result of the raid, the garrison was knocked out of the barracks, the barracks were burned, and a bridge on the highway was blown up. about 15 Germans killed. "

At the moment, the station is a stopping point on a single-track branch. Station building is not preserved. There is a low platform.
Movement
At the moment, freight traffic through the stopping point is almost absent. Previously through op there were two pairs of suburban trains (rail buses) Velikiye Luki - Alyoshcha and back and Novosokolniki - Alyoshcha and back [3] . Currently, the commuter traffic is closed due to the reduction of subsidies of the administration of the Pskov region for unprofitable commuter passenger transportation [4] .
