Futsal Championship of Russia for Women 1996/1997

In the fifth championship of Russia among women's mini-soccer teams of the major league, 10 teams were planned to participate in four rounds (2 circles) to determine the winner .. However, just a few days before the start of the championship, St. Petersburg Baltika withdrew from the tournament . In the course of the championship, Moscow-based Sport Istok and Orlyonok stopped their performance. In connection with the financial difficulties of the other teams, instead of the planned four rounds, only three passed - Moscow October 27-30, 1996, Lyubertsy, January 25-28, Saratov - April 7-12.
