Eliezer Preminger is an Israeli leftist politician. Member of the Knesset of the first convocation from the Communist Party of Israel .

Born in Vienna ( Austria ). He repatriated to Israel in 1939, after the Anschluss in Austria . He worked actively in the Palestinian Communist Party . In 1945, with a group of supporters, he created the Jewish Communist Party . In 1948 he joined the Communist Party of Israel , in the list of which he was elected to the Knesset of the 1st convocation . In July 1949, he left MAKI and created a separate faction, the Jewish Communists. Later he joined the MAPAM .
In the Knesset, he served as chairman of the resource allocation commission. He was a member of the commissions on economics, law and court, and public services. He was also an observer in the Commission on Legislation and the Court.
After the dissolution of the Knesset, he was deputy director of the Ministry of Development. Member of the Board of Directors of a number of state-owned mining enterprises.
His son, Anar Preminger, a famous Israeli film director, professor of film studies.
