Chaplanovo is the now defunct railway station of the Sakhalin region of the Far Eastern Railway . It is named for the locality of the same name.

History
The station was opened in 1926 as part of the launch site (Toyohara) of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk - (Thay) Kholmsk-Sortirovochny (Through traffic was opened in 1928 ) under the name Futamata . In 1946, after the station came under the control of the USSR, the station was renamed Chaplakovo, and in the early 1950s received its modern name. Since 1994, it was mothballed with the removal of equipment; in the late 1990s, rails were removed.
Description
The station was in the center of the village. At present, the rails that were left here at the crossing, unrooted sleepers, an embankment and two dilapidated bridges remind us of the railway that used to be here.
