Lviv plateau is an elevated hilly area in the central part of the Lviv region . It is located in the extreme northwest of the Podolsk Upland , within the city of Lviv and its southern and southeastern outskirts (within the Pustomyty district ).

From the north and north-west the plateau adjoins the Poltva river valley, in the northern and central parts of Lviv, from the north-east it is cut off by steep ledges (up to 100 m high) to the plain of the Nadbuzhansky depression (part of the Lesser Polesie ). The southern border passes along the line of the villages Milosevici - Kugaev - Tolshchev - Cherepin - Sholomyn , to the south of which begins the Opole , in particular the Lviv Opole . The western border of the plateau is adjacent to the valley of the upper reaches of the Shcherk river.
The plateau is about 20 km long. The prevailing heights are 300-350 m, the maximum is 414 m ( Chetov Rocks ). Elevated remnant areas, such as the High Castle mountains ( Castle Hill ), Leo , are composed of limestone and marls . The slopes of the plateau are dissected by tributaries of the Zubra River ( Dniester basin) and Poltva ( Western Bug basin). Lviv plateau (in the southern part of Lviv) passes the main European watershed .
Arable land prevails within the plateau, in some places forests, the largest of which is Vinnikovsky Forest Park , on the southeastern outskirts of Lviv. There are several nature conservation sites and territories, in particular, the Znesenye Regional Landscape Park , the Chertova Skala Reserves and the Honey Cave (both of local significance).
