History
By the decision of the Council of People's Commissars of the Ukrainian SSR on March 4, 1940, the Kremenets Teachers' Institute was established on the basis of the Kremenets Lyceum.
08/04/1950 By the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR No. 2403 the Kremenetsky Teaching Institute was reorganized into a pedagogical one.
07.21.1969 Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR No. 423 Kremenets Pedagogical Institute was relocated in the city of Ternopil.
June 9, 1997 By the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 555 on the basis of the Ternopil State Pedagogical Institute, the Ternopil State Pedagogical University was formed.
11/19/1997 By the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1293 to the Ternopil State Pedagogical University named after Vladimir Gnatyuk.
08/21/2004 By the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 957/2004, the Ternopil State Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Hnatiuk has been granted the status of national.
Ratings
In 2014, the Expert RA agency in the ranking of higher educational institutions of the Commonwealth of Independent States assigned the university a rating class "E" [1] .
