Professional career
Average weight
Stlvio Branco made his debut in the professional ring in August 1988 in the middle weight category.
He held 17 unbeatable fights, and in February 1992 lost on points to compatriot Agostin Cardamone (15-0), in the battle for the middleweight title of Italy.
In August 1993, Branco knocked out Luigi De Sicil (10-3) in the third round and won the Italian title. He defended the title three times, and entered the ring with the Argentine Miguel Angel Arroyo (62-10-5) and won the intercontinental WBC middleweight title.
On February 22, 1995, in a fight for the EBU European Championship title , he lost by knockout to Briton Richie Woodhall (18-0).
In May 1996, he drew a match with an American, Rodney Tony (22-1-3), in a fight for the WBU world middleweight title.
After 4 months, Branko won the WBU world middleweight title. the Italian defended his championship title six times, and in December 1998 he unexpectedly lost a knockout to compatriot Agustino Cardamone (31-2). A rematch was scheduled. By a close decision of the judges, Branko lost again.
Second Middleweight
On April 15, 2000, the Italian defeated the points of the Jamaican boxer, Glen Johnson , and won the WBU world middleweight title. Blanco then defended the title from former world champion Robin Reid.
In December 2000, Blanco entered the IBF title fight, and lost points to the champion from Germany, Sven Ottke (20-0).
Light Heavyweight
In February 2003, he lost on points to the Croatian Stripe Drivshu , in the battle for the EBU European Championship.
On October 10, 2003, Blanco unexpectedly knocked out an undefeated French boxer, Mehdi Sahnoun (24-0), and won the WBA light heavyweight world title. The following year, by a close decision, he lost the title to the Frenchman, Fabrice Tiozzo .
In May 2005, he knocked out the Hungarian jornimen, Zoltan Beres .
June 27, 2006, won the title of interim WBA light heavyweight world champion, defeating Puerto Rican points Manny Syak (20-5).
On April 28, 2007, he lost on a point-by-point battle for the full title of world champion, the Croat, Streep Drives .
In September 2009, he lost to the Canadian, Jean Pascal, in the fight for the WBC light heavyweight world title [1] .
Heavyweight
In 2010, he defeated compatriot Vincento Rosesito and won the intercontinental world title according to the WBC .
In March 2012, he had a draw fight with compatriot Jacobbe Fragomenni [2] .
In December 2012, a rematch took place. By a separate decision of the judges in a close fight, Jacobbe Fragomenni defeated.
