Geography
It is located on the northern coast of the island of Timor, 87 km east of the capital, Dili, and 60 km west of the city of Baucau by road. It is the administrative center of Manatutu County.
Population
According to 2012 data, the population of the subarea is 12 555 people [1] ; according to 2004, it numbered 10,449 people [2] . Most of the population speaks the Galoli language, the Tetum language is also widespread. The average age of the population is 19.4 years [1] .
Economics
The main agricultural crops grown by the Manatutu population include rice, cassava, corn, coconut, coffee and vegetables.
