Career

Club career

He began his professional career in 2001, when he joined the Shandong Luneng main team from the youth team. In the debut season, he went out in seven matches, and a year later he became a player of the main squad, having played in 19 matches of the Chinese football championship. [3] The player’s versatility allowed the coach to change game models and release Liu Jindong in defense and in midfield. In 2006, the player helped win the Shandong Championship [4] , success was repeated in 2008 [5] . By the 2009 season, the player was transferred to the defense and received the status of vice-captain of the team, however, since captain Shu Chang healed for a long time, in most of the season Liu was the captain. With the arrival of Branko Ivankovych on the coaching bridge before the start of the 2010 season, he appointed the player as the team captain. Liu performed successfully in the championship, having won another championship title with the team.

International Career

In 2003, he received a call to the national team , made his debut in a friendly match against the team of Chile , which took place on August 20, 2003 and ended with the score 0-0. In this game, Liu played as a midfielder. [6] Under the head coach of the national team, Ari Khan, the player began to fall into the base of the national team, and on December 11, 2003 he opened an account with goals for the national team in the East Asian Cup game against Hong Kong . Despite the fact that Liu played in several preparatory games for the Asian Cup 2004 , in the end he did not get into the national team for this tournament, instead Zhou Haibin joined the team.

With the departure of Ari Khan and the new coach Zhu Guanghu, Liu ceased to be in the main team, and he did not go to the squad under Serbian specialist Vladimir Petrovich either. Only five years later, with the advent of Gao Hongbo, Liu again received a call to the national team for a friendly match against the German national team , which was held on May 29, 2009 and ended in a 1-1 draw.
