About the album
Record
After a short break, Rancid returned to the studio with producer Brett Gurevich to record a new album. Work on it went on for a year. By the end of the recording, all the members of the group were tense and extremely irritable. Indestructible addresses very personal topics, including Tim Armstrong's divorce from Brody Dahl . Lars dedicated the Otherside track to his brother Robert, who died in 2001.
Release Delay
The official release of the album was postponed several times. At first it was planned to be released in the summer or autumn of 2002, then in early 2003, in the middle of the same year, and, finally, Indestructible was released on August 19, 2003 . One of the reasons for the delay was the active participation of group members in other projects. Tim Armstrong was busy releasing the Transplants supergroup 's debut album , and Frederiksen the album of his group .
