Biography
Born on December 17, 1936 in the city of Severodonetsk of the Luhansk region. In 1941, the Furmanov family was evacuated to the village of Seversky Polevsky district of the Sverdlovsk region.
In 1954 he graduated from the men's secondary school No. 7 in Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk Region, in 1959 he graduated from the Construction Department of the Ural Polytechnic Institute with a degree in industrial and civil engineering.
He began his career as a master in the Uraltyazhtrubstroy trust of the Glavsreduralstroy of the USSR Ministry of Engineering and Construction.
Until 1982, he worked in construction organizations of Pervouralsk, Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk. The last position held is the deputy chief of Glavsreduralstroy. Then four years - the head of the construction department of the Sverdlovsk Regional Committee of the CPSU.
Since 1986 - Deputy Head of the Ministry of Engineering and Construction of the USSR , Minuralsibstroy of the USSR.
In 1990-1992 - Member of the Government of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the State Committee for Architecture and Construction of the RSFSR, Minister of Architecture, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Russia.
Since 1993 - Deputy Chairman of the Expert Council under the President of the Russian Federation, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy of Russia.
From 1994 to 2001 - Deputy Chairman of the State Investment Corporation.
He was awarded the orders of the Red Banner of Labor (1978) and the Friendship of Peoples (1986), three medals, including the medal "For the development of virgin and fallow lands" (1957).
