Uruguay Example 2000 is the next season of the Uruguay Football Championship . The champion of the country was Nacional.

The league has been expanded from 15 to 18 players. In addition to Huventud, Villa Espanyola and Racing, who earned the right to participate in the elite following the Second Division of 1999, the Uruguayan Football Association issued a special license to participate in the Example Rocha Football Club, organized as a result of uniting all the teams of its department.

The champion of Uruguay, Nacional, as well as the champion and vice champion of Ligiglia 2000 (Defensor Sporting and Peñarol) qualified for the 2001 Libertadores Cup .

Fronter River, Liverpool and Villa Espanyola dropped out from the Examples, and the last club did not participate in Klausur due to the fact that the stadium could not be announced. Instead, the Phoenix , Central Espanyol , and Montevideo Wanderers joined the elite.
