In Ktorovo there is a post office [2] , a feldsher-midwife station [3] , there is the Assumption Church built in 1795, a school in the neighboring village of Kryukovo (2 km) [4] .
The village is located 9 km east of the regional center Kasimov . the nearest settlements are Kryukovo, 2 km to the north-east, in the same place adjacent to Kryukovo Larino , 2 km to the south-east of Lazarevo , in the south-west, 1.5 km, Muntovo and 1 km to Shegoshanovo .
According to unverified information, in the “Scribe Books” Kotorovo was first mentioned in 1613 [5] , the wooden church was built no later than the 2nd half of the 17th century, and the modern stone church was built in 1795 [6] . According to the census of 1897 in Kotorovo there were 1,339 inhabitants, exclusively Orthodox [7] . In 1917, the village was part of the Elatom district of the Tambov province .
