Creation History
At the end of the 19th century, the first specialized journals in psychoneurology appeared in Russia - the Archive of Psychiatry, Neurology and Forensic Psychopathology (Kharkov, 1883), and the Bulletin of Clinical and Forensic Psychiatry and Neuropathology (St. Petersburg, 1883). 10 years later, in 1893, the Neurological Bulletin was founded in Kazan, becoming the third in a series of specialized journals. Only a few years later, in St. Petersburg (1896) and in Moscow (1901), the journal Review of Psychiatry, Neurology and Experimental Psychology and the Journal of Neuropathology and Psychiatry , respectively, were published. The opening of each of the magazines was associated with the names of prominent Russian neuropsychiatric neuropsychologists - prof. P.I. Kovalevsky , prof. I.P. Merzheevsky , prof. V. M. Bekhterev , prof. A. Ya. Kozhevnikova .
The Neurological Bulletin was founded by V. M. Bekhterev and positioned itself as the printed organ of the Kazan Society of Neuropathologists and Psychiatrists. For many years, despite the departure from Kazan to St. Petersburg, Academician V. M. Bekhterev remained the editor-in-chief of the journal. The main goals of creating the journal were formulated by him at the opening and have been preserved to this day - the consolidation of scientists of various specialties around neurosciences, their rapprochement and mutual enrichment.
Over the years, the co-editors of the magazine were: Professor Psychiatrist I. M. Popov, Professor Physiologist N. A. Mislavsky, Professor Psychiatrist V. P. Osipov. Due to revolutionary events, in 1918 the publication of the journal “Neurological Bulletin” was suspended. And only in 1993 was the rebirth of the magazine.
Currently, the journal accepts articles for publication in all disciplines related to neuroscience - neurology, psychiatry, narcology (addictology), psychotherapy, neurosurgery, neurophysiology, psychophysiology, neurochemistry, medical psychology. The frequency of the magazine is 4 issues per year.
Since 2004, the journal has been included in the list of VAKovsky .
