Story
In one of the primary schools in Montreal, a young teacher commits suicide. In its place offers itself Bashir Lazar, a refugee from Algeria . Realizing that finding a new teacher in the middle of the year will not be easy, the director agrees. At first, the work is not easy for Lazar, he has to overcome cultural differences between countries, in addition, he recently lost his family - his wife and two children died in Algeria. Nevertheless, he gradually manages to establish contact with children who are still experiencing the death of a teacher. It was a shock for Lazar when he found out why his predecessor had committed suicide.
And soon after that he was informed that he could no longer work at school: it became known that he had never been a teacher, and in Algeria he kept a restaurant. The teacher was his wife, and he used her notes to teach children. Lazar asks for another day to say goodbye to his students, recalling that the children have already lost one teacher - without any farewell. The director, who, due to a personnel error, will be fired herself, agrees.
