Historicism ( historicism ) is a German philosophical school of the late XIX - early XX centuries, to the representatives of which include V. Dilthey , G. Simmel , F. Meinecke , G. Rickert , M. Weber , E. Trölcz . [one]
Historicism developed within the framework of neo-Kantianism , formulating an idiographic (individualizing) approach, without making abstract generalizations. For historicism, the positivistic approach of O. Comte to the philosophy of history is unacceptable. Historicism considers the individual character of the products of human culture, customs, myths, and values of each individual era to be the object of historical knowledge.
