Story

The plot of the two-part film takes place in 1944 during preparation for the Iasi-Chisinau operation . The code name for Operation South Thunder. At its core, it is planned to misinform the enemy, defeat the large German-Romanian group that covered the Balkan direction, liberate Moldova and withdraw Romania from the war.

The German command becomes aware of the upcoming operation, but the details of the operation cannot be found out. Abwehr seeks by all means to unravel the plans of the Soviet command. The strict secrecy of the Soviet offensive does not allow the German command to find out all the details. Spies introduced into the ranks of the Soviet army come into action. Then, desiring to receive the necessary information, Abwehr begins the operation "Relative". A German agent in the guise of an underground anti-fascist secretly sneaks into the apartment of major counterintelligence Chumakova. She believes that her children died at the beginning of the war, but the agent claims that they are alive and are in the German rear. The woman is confused. The bet gives permission to include Major Chumakov in the game to misinform the enemy. Abwehr's agent does not suggest that he became a pawn in the game of Soviet counterintelligence.
