Geography
The village is located in the southern part of the department, east of the Pando River, at an altitude of 39 meters above sea level [1] . Empalme Olmos is located approximately 38 kilometers east-southeast (ESE) from the city of Canelones , the administrative center of the department and 24 kilometers northeast of Montevideo , the country's capital. The nearest civilian airport is in Montevideo [1] .
History
Empalme Olmos was founded on May 21, 1895 [2] . Received the status of a rural settlement ( Pueblo ) on November 3, 1952 [2] [3] .
