It is part of the Komyansk municipal formation [1] , from the point of view of administrative-territorial division - in the Vederkovsky village council.
The distance to the regional center of Gryazovets by road is 42.5 km, to the center of the Khoroshevo municipality in a straight line - 7 km. The nearest settlements are Serezhino , Schekutievo , Bogoslovo , Bushuikha .
According to the 2002 census, the population is 2 people [2] .

History
In the “Genealogy of the Vologda Village” it is indicated that it was first mentioned as the village of Voznesenskoye in the 14th century. It was a secular estate on the territory of the Komelsky volost [3] . According to P.A. Kolesnikova is the oldest settlement in the Gryazovets district.
In the 18th century, the stone Kokhtosh Ascension Church was built [4] .
From 1780 to 1924 it was part of the Gryazovets district
In 1859 there was a church in the village and seven courtyards in which 51 people lived (26 men and 25 women) [5]
In 1872, it belonged to the Ogarkivsky volost of the Gryazovets district [6] .
In 1898, the Ascension Kohtozhsky parish two-class school was opened in the former "master's house" where 83 people studied [7]
In 1929, after the creation of the Gryazovets district, the village of Voznesenskoye became part of the Vederkovsky village council. In 1929, in the village of Voznesensky there was a seven-year school, two trading establishments and 17 courtyards. 81 people lived in them (38 men and 43 women) [8] .
From 1935 to 1959, together with the Vederkovsky Village Council, it was part of the Lezhsky District [9]. Since the 1930s it has been called the village of Ascension.
In 2006, as part of the Vederkovsky village council, it became part of the Komyansk municipal entity .
