It is part of the Rostilovsky municipality [1] , from the point of view of the administrative-territorial division - in the Rostilovsky village council.
The distance by road to the regional center of Gryazovets is 6 km, to the center of the municipality of Rostilovo - 0.3 km. The nearest settlements are Talitsa , Podsosenie , Rostilovo .
According to the 2002 census, the population is 61 people (26 men, 35 women). The predominant nationality is Russian (97%) [2] .
In the “Genealogy of the Vologda Village” it is indicated that in 1628 the village of Basargino was the patrimony of the clergy in the Komelsky volost of the Vologda district .
In Basargino, Ivanova (Pylaeva), Alexandra Grigoryevna (1930 -?), The milkmaid of the Rostilovsky state farm of the Gryazovets district, Hero of Socialist Labor was born.
