Biography

Hereditary mining engineer. Born November 25, 1836 . At the end of the course of the Institute of the Corps of Mining Engineers , on May 31, 1858, he was identified at the St. Petersburg Mint . Since 1859 - junior assistant; in 1864-1866 - acting as manager of the silver redistribution; in 1866-1877 - the manager of the Medal Chamber , the head of the medal and stamp parts.

Twice, in 1872 and 1886, he was abroad; studied the state of coin and medal business in European countries [1] .

In 1876, N.P. Follendorf - official of special assignments of the Ministry of Finance; in 1877-1882 - the head of the Mechanical part and the redistribution.

From December 3, 1882 to December 2, 1905 - Head of the St. Petersburg Mint. Since December 10, 1905 - retired.

He was a member of the Mining Council and the Mining Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and State Property. According to his sketches, several medals were completed, including the 175th anniversary of the St. Petersburg Mint.

He was married to the Frenchwoman Maria Viktorovna Morey.

He died on November 6, 1909 in Nice (France), was buried in the Russian cemetery of Kokad .
