Aulenti is known for participating in projects such as the National Museum of Art in Paris ( Orsay Museum ), the Museum of Modern Art at the Pompidou Center in Paris , the Venetian Palazzo Grassi , the Museum of Asian Art ( English ) in San Francisco, the National Museum of Art of Catalonia in Barcelona , The Palazzo Publico in San Marino. She worked on a project to reconstruct Cadorna Square in Milan. In Rome, she was engaged in the reconstruction of papal stables at the Quirinal Palace .

Biography
She was educated at the Faculty of Architecture of the Milan Polytechnic (1959). Subsequently, she worked in the magazine of architecture and design “Casabella Continuita” as a graphic designer and in the magazine “Lotus International”. Its formation as an architect was first influenced by neorealism, and later by the Italian movement called “neoliberti” (the most famous examples are the Velasco Tower in Milan and the BBPR Tower in Turin).
She was actively engaged in teaching and social activities, taught at the Venice School of Architecture in 1960-1962 and at the Milan School of Architecture in 1964-1967, and lectured at the Department of Architecture of the University of Venice. At that time, she worked on the design for the La Rinascente department store, and then designed the furniture at the Zanotta design company, where she created such famous works as the April chair made of stainless steel and the Sanmarco table made of mirror glass . Subsequently, she became vice president of the Industrial Design Association.
In 1966, she became a business partner of Olivetti , for which she created the design of several stores (in particular, Olivetti Shop (1966, Paris, France)). In 1968, she began cooperation with the Fiat company, for which she developed the design of installations, stands and exhibition halls. Among them - an exhibition hall in Zurich (1969-1970, Switzerland), in Brussels (1970, Belgium), in Turin (1970, Italy).
Rewards
She was a gentleman of the French Order of the Legion of Honor . She was also awarded a number of high government awards of Italy and other countries, numerous prizes.
Gae Aulenti Square in Milan is named after the architect.
