Die Hard series ( English Die Hard series ) - a series of action films , which began with the 1988 Die Hard Nutrient , based on the 1979 novel Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorpe . All five films focus on John McClain's character ( Bruce Willis ), a New York police detective fighting off terrorist groups in each episode. There are also several movie-based video games and a comic book series released in August 2009.

Comics
In May 2009, Boom! Studios has announced that it will be releasing a series of “Tough Nut” comics, which will be a prequel to the first film. The plot of the comic takes place in 1976 and tells about John McClain - the cop rookie of the New York Police Department. [1] [2] [3] The script for the comic was written by Howard Chaykin. [4] The first issue of the Die Hard: The First Year comic was released on September 30, 2009. The last eighth issue of the comic was released on April 12, 2010.
