Biography

Yuri Yuryevich Vetrov was born on August 16, 1949 in Moscow .

In 1967 he graduated from the Moscow Choreographic School (teachers E.P. Valukin , A.N. Ermolaev ). In 1967 he became a soloist of the Bolshoi Theater , a leading characteristic dancer, mastered the skills of classical pantomime , dramatically expressive plastic.

In 1980 he graduated from the choreography department of the Leningrad Conservatory (teacher Yu. N. Grigorovich ).

Associate Professor, Moscow State Institute of Choreography (1988).

In 1990-1994, Vetrov was the director of the Bolshoi ballet troupe [1] .

Since 2001, she has been working at the Faculty of Arts of Moscow State University , conducts classes in the discipline "Semiotics and the style of choreography" [2] .

Parties: Drosselmeyer; Don Quixote and Gamache ( Don Quixote ), Sycophantus ( Icarus ), Prince Lemon ( Cipollino ), Cuman (in the opera Prince Igor ), Severyan ( Stone Flower ), Carabos fairy; Lorenzo (“ Romeo and Juliet ”), Stranger (“ Legend of Love ”), Hans (“ Giselle ”), Magician (“ Parsley ”), Kashchei the Immortal (“ Firebird ”), The Great Brahmin (“ La Bayadere ”), Seyid Pasha (The Corsair ) [1] .

Performances: Adagio television concerts (1980) and This Wonderful World (1981).

Directing

On November 22, 2010, within the framework of the first All-Russian Forum “Ballet - XXI Century” at the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theater, Yuri Vetrov staged a ballet to the music of L. Minkus “Paquita” [3] .

In March 2013, the Nizhny Novgorod Opera and Ballet Theater hosted the premiere of the production of “SWAN LAKE” (P. I. Tchaikovsky) directed by Yu. Yu. Vetrov
