Biography
Born on September 6, 1923 in Nova Varosha . Before World War II he was a student. Since 1941, he was a member of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia , and in the same year joined the partisan anti-fascist movement.
In the war he commanded the 3rd company of the 1st battalion of the 3rd proletarian Sanjak shock brigade . For the courage shown in the battles , May 19, 1942 was introduced to the Order of the National Hero of Yugoslavia, although he was not even 20 years old. The initiator of the idea was the General Staff of the People's Liberation Movement of Sanjak:
In the battles in which we participated with our partisan comrades, for all the time in those battles in which our 1st Zlatarian battalion took part, in all cases the commander of the 3rd company, comrade Zhivko Luich, was distinguished. However, Zhivko did not live up to the award: on the night of August 1 to 2, 1942, he died in battle with the Ustashi near the village of Gorni-Malovan , not far from Kupres . Nevertheless, the title of People’s Hero was posthumously awarded on December 20, 1951, by a decree of the Presidium of the People’s Assembly of the People’s Republic of Finland.
