2012 World Pentathlon Championships

The LVI World Modern Pentathlon Championship was held from May 7 to 13, 2012 in Rome. Athletes and athletes competed in the individual and team championships, relay races and mixed doubles (mixed relay), a total of 7 sets of awards were won. During the championship, licenses for the 2012 Olympics were raffled off .

The Russian team took second place in the team event, having won one gold, three silver and one bronze. The British excelled (2-0-2), the Germans became the third (1-1-0), the South Koreans (1-0-2) the fourth. By the total number of awards, the Russian team became the first (5), beating the Chinese and the British (4 each). In the Olympic disciplines, Russians also have the best result (1-1-0), which allows them to leave the British second (1-0-1).

The world champion was Alexander Lesun, the two-time Olympic champion Andrei Moiseev - silver. Svetlana Lebedeva and Maxim Kuznetsov won silver in the mixed relay. In the team event, the Russian men's team became the second, the Russians won the bronze in the relay.
