The Holy Bishops' Council of the Serbian Orthodox Church ( Serbian. Sveti Archiereski Sabor Srpsk Orthodox Church ) is the highest organ of church legislative power in matters of faith, worship, church system or church discipline and the internal organization of the Serbian Orthodox Church (TWS). He is also the highest judicial authority in his competence. It is convened annually in May. In an emergency, it can also collect at any other time.
The Council of Bishops is composed of all diocesan bishops under the chairmanship of the patriarch, and its decisions shall be deemed valid if more than half of the diocesan bishops are present at their adoption at a meeting of the Council. Only they can take part in voting on this or that issue. With an equal number of votes, the patriarch’s vote is decisive. Currently, the Council of Bishops is headed by Patriarch Irenaeus .
