The INSEE code is 93027.
The commune is located approximately 10 km north of Paris , 4 km northwest of Bobigny [1] . There is a direct connection with Paris via the RER B lines (La-Courneuve-Obervilliers station) and metro line 7 (the final station of La-Courneuve - May 8, 1945 ).
The name comes from the Latin curia nova or curtis nova , which means a new locality. There are many high-rise buildings in the city, where mainly poor immigrants live.

Economics
In 2004, there were 14,213 jobs and 766 private companies in La Courneuve. Among large companies: Orangina (production of carbonated drinks), KDI (metallurgy), UPS (transportation), CNIM industrial group, Paprec Group (waste management). The largest private company is Eurocopter , which employs about 850 employees.
In 2007, among 24,795 people of working age (15-64 years old), 16,916 were economically active , 7,879 inactive (the activity indicator was 68.2%, in 1999 it was 68.3%). Of the 16,916 active, 12,997 people worked (7,284 men and 5,713 women), 3,919 were unemployed (2,056 men and 1,863 women). Among 7879 inactive 3186 people were pupils or students, 1090 - pensioners, 3603 were inactive for other reasons [2] .

- St Yves Church
- Church of Saint Lucien of the 12th century. It was destroyed by the Huguenots, restored in 1580. It is a building with three naves and a crypt, in which the Merovingian sarcophagi are located [3] .
