The project was started by Damian Pietras, and is currently supported by John Fitzgerald. Designed to be powerful and easy to use, the appearance and some arrangement of windows is similar to the interface of the console file manager Midnight Commander [1] .
The player is easy to configure, there is support for ALSA , OSS or JACK . It supports shell commands, has easily customizable color schemes , interface settings (for example, you can change the layout of panels to your liking). MOC can only work with one playlist (which supports the m3u format).
The binary file is called “mocp” to launch “MOC Player”, as there is a conflict with the Qt utility, which has a similar name “moc”.
