Content

Geography

The village is located at an altitude of 157 meters above sea level [2] on the right bank of the Dniester . In Soviet times, before the construction of the Dubossarskaya HPP from the village of Golerkany to the village of Kochery, the Golerkan ford, used since the Scythian times, passed.

According to the 2004 census , 2,522 people live in the village of Golerkany (1258 men, 1264 women) [3] .

Infrastructure

Three kilometers south of the village is the Golerkan Government Rest House of the Republic of Moldova with a government rest area on the right bank of the Dniester . In the 1960-1980s, they often spent their summer holidays: General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee L. I. Brezhnev , an outstanding Soviet and Russian actor, circus performer Yuri Nikulin , high-ranking figures of the MSSR . The holiday home in the closed area is a source that, according to ancient legends, treats women for infertility and men’s impotence. .
